Project Management Evacuations Lead a team of staff and volunteers in hosting five (5) First Nation evacuations in a 2 1/2-year period. Chair of the Emergency Management Control Group. Resolute Forest Products Closure (Iroquois Falls) Led, coordinated, and reported to Council regarding the negotiations with Resolute Forest Products and the Town when the mill closed permanently in 2014. Assisted in negotiations for the transfer of the mill site, property and trestle bridge between representatives of third parties, Resolute and the Town. Liaised with Ministers for assistance in the transition and negotiations with reference to property assessment appeals. Contract Negotiations (Town of Deep River) Negotiated the legal agreements and communicated with the Federal Government for the agreement and cost sharing between Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL) and the Town of Deep River for the provision of a water main line (approx. 8km) to supply potable water to the nuclear plant. Tim Horton Events Centre (Cochrane) Led, coordinated, attended meetings, and reconciled financial records of the Tim Horton Events Centre and the Polar Bear Habitat and Heritage Village. Treasurer for the Tim Horton Events Centre Fundraising Committee.
Hillcrest and Bigwood property development – Sioux Lookout Worked with senior administration staff to secure funding from the federal and provincial governments for the Hillcrest and Bigwood properties for commercial development. Municipal Plans Community Safety and Well-Being Plan – Co-led the development of the Community Safety and Well-Being Plan for the Municipality of Sioux Lookout to meet the requirements of the new Community Safety and Policing Act. This involved meetings with stakeholders (over 30 organizations) and community consultations. Strategic Plan - Co-led the development of the new Strategic Plan for the Municipality of Sioux Lookout. Municipal Services Deliver Review – Led the MSDR in Smooth Rock Falls, Cochrane and Sioux Lookout with follow up recommendations. Organizational Review – Worked with municipal staff to present an organizational review which included a realignment of job descriptions to meet the needs of the municipality as well as job evaluations for approval by Council.
